A Military Vehicle Preservation Association convoy travels along Highway 28 on Aug. 4, 2026, in Salmon, Idaho. MVPA members are traveling the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery route between Fort Mandan, North Dakota, and Fort Clatsop, Oregon. More than 50 vehicles are expected to participate. The group crossed the Continental Divide from Montana to Idaho on Tuesday and spent the night in Salmon. Some drivers and passengers waved or flashed a peace sign at spectators.
